Megan Freiburger Moore is the Chief Executive Officer of Fortuna Solutions Group, a full-service government and defense contract consulting business. In this capacity, she provides strategic vision to drive growth, foster innovation, and create value for stakeholders.
Additionally, Megan has served as Chief Operating Officer of an aviation defense services firm that provided flight operations, maintenance, and test services to a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) customers worldwide. She has also served as Vice President of Business Operations, Vice President of Contracts, and Director of Contracts in the defense industry. After beginning her career in U.S. Air Force acquisitions, Megan spent a decade with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge across a variety of U.S. Navy ship classes and weapons systems, including DDG 51 (ARLEIGH BURKE Class), CVN 78 (GERALD R. FORD Class) and DDG 1000 (ZUMWALT Class).
As a GS-15 Contracting Officer for the DDG 51 Program, Megan managed a portfolio of over $10B in contracts for ship construction, services, and ship availabilities. She also led the solicitation, negotiations, and award of contracts for construction of 13 U.S. Navy destroyers, valued at over $8.5B.
Megan’s record of success includes leading the contracting efforts for the DDG 51 Program Procurement Teams that earned the 2012 DoD Packard Award for Excellence in Acquisition and the 2011 Department of the Navy Award for Competition Excellence.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government from Georgetown University, an MBA from George Mason University, and completed The Wharton School’s Executive General Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she is DAWIA Level III certified in Contracting, and Level I certified in Program Management and Logistics.
Lauren C. Ayers is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Fortuna Solutions Group, a full-service government and defense consulting firm. In this dual role, she creates a cohesive strategy that aligns operational capabilities with financial objectives, facilitating agile decision-making and driving organizational success.
Previously, Lauren served as Vice President of Defense and Intelligence at the Professional Services Council, focusing on policy, advocacy, and education efforts related to the U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Additionally, as Director of Program Analysis & Business Transformation for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Procurement), she advised on nearly $300B in U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps procurements.
As a GS-15 Contracting Officer with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Lauren applied her expertise in business analytics, negotiation, and risk management to various Navy ship classes and weapons systems including the DDG 51 (ARLEIGH BURKE Class), DDG 1000 (ZUMWALT Class) and both the FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE variants of the Littoral Combat Ship. In this role, she led the strategic direction and execution of efforts on existing portfolios in excess of $40B for ship construction, services, and ship availabilities. She also led the solicitation, negotiations, and award of contracts for the construction of up to 20 U.S. Navy destroyers, valued at nearly $20B.
Continuing her multi-discipline expertise, prior to joining NAVSEA in 2010, Lauren worked for a private investment management firm in Seattle, Washington supporting high net worth clients across a nearly $3B client base.
Lauren earned a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy as a Distinguished Graduate from the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Economics from James Madison University. Lauren is DAWIA Level III certified in Contracting and Level I certified in Business and Financial Management. Additionally, she serves on the Board of the Women in Defense – National Capital Chapter and is an Advisory Board Member for several firms in the federal contracting space.
